About Me
Shannon has been quoted in regional publications and featured on local radio discussing youth mental health access, school-based behavioral health expansion, and workforce gaps in rural Washington.
I am a Washington State Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Idaho Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work (BCD). I provide trauma-informed telehealth psychotherapy for adults and adolescents throughout Washington, along with clinical supervision and consultation for behavioral health professionals.
With nearly two decades of experience across community mental health, healthcare systems, education, and private practice leadership, my work bridges direct clinical care and systems-level consultation. Across all services, I prioritize ethical clarity, reflective practice, and sustainable growth. My work has included direct clinical care, program development, executive leadership, and behavioral health system design across Washington State.
I work especially well with individuals who feel overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck — including helping professionals, caregivers, and those navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, identity shifts, and major life transitions.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I integrate EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems–informed therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches to support meaningful, sustainable change aligned with your values.
Therapy is paced intentionally, with attention to emotional safety, clarity, and long-term integration.
Clinical Supervision & Consultation
In addition to clinical care, I provide associate-level supervision for Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, and Marriage and Family Therapists pursuing licensure in Washington State. My supervision model is reflective, developmental, and grounded in ethical practice and documentation integrity.
I also offer professional consultation for clinicians and private practice owners, including documentation review, audit preparedness, quality assurance, billing workflow evaluation, and systems-level support.
Philosophy
Across all areas of my work, I prioritize collaboration, transparency, and grounded engagement.
My goal is simple: to create spaces where people can think clearly, feel supported, and move forward with confidence.
My StoryI came into social work with a deep curiosity about people, systems, and the ways our environments shape well-being. I earned my undergraduate degree in Sociology, and pursuing my Master of Social Work allowed me to see theory come fully into practice — connecting systems thinking with direct, relational care.
I began my career at the YWCA in Walla Walla, working in the domestic violence program. There, I witnessed firsthand the strength of survivors and the urgent need for advocacy within underserved communities. That work shaped my understanding of trauma, resilience, and the importance of systems-level accountability.
I remained engaged in community-based initiatives, serving on boards and coalitions addressing domestic violence, homelessness, child welfare, and human trafficking across Washington State.
Over time, my commitment to community expanded into systems-level leadership. I have served on advisory committees supporting social work and chemical dependency education programs, including my current role on the advisory board for the Bachelor of Social Work and Chemical Dependency programs at Whatcom Community College. I was honored to receive the Promise Award for my work in mental health programming within the Bellingham School District and served on the committee that helped bring the first school-based embedded wellness center to our region.
Across schools, healthcare systems, crisis services, housing initiatives, community mental health programs, and executive leadership roles, one belief has remained steady:
Healing happens in relationship, and sustainable change requires both compassion and clarity.
I care deeply about the communities where I live and work. The people I serve are not abstract populations — they are neighbors, families, and young people who will shape the future of our region.
Whether working with clients, supervisees, or organizations, I bring a grounded, thoughtful presence shaped by experience, humility, and deep respect for lived experience.
